I’m Janike (Eline) Altena aka JEA. Before becoming a DJ I spent 10 years as a dancer, catwalk coach and creative director, building the confidence, creativity and connection that now define my performances.
Since my debut in April 2024 things have moved very fast. I’ve taken my high-energy sets around the world, from Barbados to London and from Ghana to Berlin, with a full Africa tour and a packed European summer tour under my belt. My sets are all about blending old-school R&B, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Baile Funk & Amapiano, with unexpected twists to keep the crowd hyped. I bring the vibe, not just the music. Dancing with the audience, sparking energy and creating unforgettable moments are my signature moves.
When I’m not performing I’m in the studio crafting mashups, collaborating with producers and exploring new sounds. The DJ world is a constant learning curve and I’m embracing every moment. With so much happening in such a short time this is only the beginning. ;)
